Cute?

This adorable animal is called Slow Loris, The World's Only Poisonous Primate

Quoted from environmental graffiti: "They have very sharp needle-like teeth on their lower jaw, shaped like a spade. Their bite is so painful and agonizing that they can create extreme allergic reactions (up to anaphylactic shock), followed by Hematuria, which is a reaction to the allergen." So why do I show you this little animal? Its cute but poisonous, does it sounds like someone you know or heard of? That one person who looks so beautiful and innocent on the surface but when you see what they do or what they say its like they are a devil. So today, we are going to discuss about....

How do we define inner beauty? We know what it is but we don't really understand it. Our team was dying to know what really defines it. So.. we asked.

Due to shyness of the people, we did not get many response but we know one thing. Inner beauty is from within, everyone has their own definitions. Just like the people we interviewed, they could have just walked away but instead they stopped for us.

So we continued our research on inner beauty and chance upon a website full of gifs. Here's what we found.

Pushing the van away and risking his own life.

He could have just walked away.

He risk his life for the kitten (black shadow like thing that he picked up)

Notice the small figure climbing at the side of the escalator and the black shirt man who followed it, he caught the child.

A sweet gesture to help the little girl cross

The man may be dead but those people still risked their lives to take the body.

After looking at all these, we finally had a glimpse of what inner beauty is.

Inner beauty is the most important feature in our human being. All of our actions in a day are produced from that inner beauty. Have you ever wondered what makes you act the way you do or who you are, inside? Inner beauty shows itself in many ways perhaps by helping an elderly neighbour with crossing the road safely or by donating to charity whenever possible.

A person can be attracted by external beauty only to find on closer examination that it is ugly on the inside.

“Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates.” Kate Angell, Squeeze Play

A Good looking person can be Internally filled with hatred or with love. But how do we know unless we look on the inside? We often judge people when we first meet them by the way they look. It is well known that you cannot judge a book by its cover.

“Boys think girls are like books, If the cover doesn't catch their eye they won't bother to read what's inside".” Marilyn Monroe

So look inside when you first meet people and look out for that inner beauty, in the long run it is far more important than any external beauty they may possess.

Those gifs are examples from foreign countries, so what can we do in Singapore to "show" our inner beauty?

1. Display selflessness

Firdaus displayed his selflessness by volunteering to learn how to use the rope like thing and his action caught the attention of many people, attracting them to support the uncle.

Also, while walking down Orchard Road, we spotted some volunteers for The Purple Parade!

2. Support charity programmes and be kind hearted

Most likely you will have fun and you will help the people in need in the same time!

3. Look around and start appreciating and participating

Start a social enterprise? :)

A social enterprise stall we found at underground scape

4. Be responsible, to our mother earth

Use tumblers from Starbucks. Save your money and save the earth!

Overall, we can conclude that,

Beauty is skin deep and more.

It’s our duty as occupants of this planet to keep it safe and habitable. So what if we are building infrastructures and urban jungles to make it look better when in the end its just making mother earth suffer.

It’s the same as us humans, no matter how rich, muscular or good-looking you are,  if you don’t have the right character, it will internally harm you eventually. Not everything is what it seems to be.

Looking Good Vs. Feeling Good

Internal or External? What is your take on beauty?

External
Internal

*Both matters. its just that we tend to take the internal component too lightly. so both are right.:) hehe.
